True Story Ahead

Last night, two women sat together sharing with one another their lives. Before long, three hours disappeared. I love how times flies when I’m with a favored friend.

Websites, wedding planning, and grandchildren were just a few of the topics we discussed. Sharing together our joys and our challenges. Never an unimportant moment.

Encouragement poured forth between us. I felt my soul being lifted throughout the evening. I hadn’t realized how weighted I’d been before arriving. When I left I felt like I’d lost twenty pounds. Now that’s what I call an effective diet program!

Friends can restore our souls. They help bring lightness to our world. Walking with favored friends enriches our life’s journey.

I was enriched, recharged, and encouraged last night because I talked with a friend.

Right before I left her home, she said, “The Lord has been listening to us tonight. He’s heard every word.”

Then she showed me in Malachi 3:16 that not only has God been listening to the two of us talk and heard everything we said, but He’s written it down in His scroll of remembrance.

“Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.”

These words filled me with renewed assurance that my God cares. He cares so much for His loved ones that He writes down our conversations with faithful friends.

Knowing all we talked about my soul was recharged. I remembered, my God is powerful. I left with a skip in my step, a heart full of hope, and blessed with a friend.
