Did you know the Bible is filled with blessings? Depending on the source you use, there are 7,000 to 8,000 blessings. Clearly our God loves to bless. Today, I want to spend some time reminding you of some of the wonderful blessings Jesus grants.
Jesus is the One who carries out the fulfillment of our happiness and joy.
Jesus is the Granter of Blessings!
“The Lord will grant you a blessing” (Deuteronomy 28:8, HCSB).
Here are some of my favorite blessings:
- “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him” (Psalm 127:3, NLT).
- “I will send down showers in their season; there will be showers of blessing” (Ezekiel 34:26, NIV).
- “God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him” (James 1:12, NLT).
- “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8, NIV).
- “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2, NIV).
- “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3, NIV).
- “The Lord’s blessing enriches” (Proverbs 10:22, HCSB).
And I really like this one:
- “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her!”(Luke 1:45, NIV).
I am so happy that Jesus is the Granter of Blessings. He has the best gifts.
As we get closer to celebrating Christmas, where many of us bless others with gifts, let us remember the greatest gift Jesus has given us: forgiveness of sin and life everlasting.
This Advent season may the Granter of Blessings, Jesus Himself, bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
