Do you ever get so focused on a task that all you think about is achieving it? Do you ever commit to someone or something and forget why or how you are going to accomplish that commitment? I have and I did first thing this morning.
When I got up this morning and I sat down at my desk, I pulled out my computer and tried to force inspiration. I checked the clock. Ugh! Time was running out and I didn’t have anything inspirational to offer you. It was when bowed my head out of my frustration that I “heard.” I remembered the words I’ve read so many times, “You can plan Michelle, but I direct your steps.” You see, my plan is a commitment to writing these Morning Musings, but God directs what is written. He reminded me this morning His purpose: To encourage me so that I can encourage you. I can’t do that without God Himself directing me. The moral of the story: as we start another day and we make our plans, let’s be sure to include God. Let’s allow Him to direct our steps. When we allow His instruction, we are blessed and we succeed.
Scripture:
Proverbs 16:9 – “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.”
Proverbs 16:20 – “Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD.”
