Good morning, friends. This morning, I stopped my writing, a writing that was really challenging me and causing me to feel uneasy and well, angry. I stopped writing, and I went to our living room window to watch the sun rise. It was breathtaking! As I stood there watching this beautiful demonstration of God’s glory, I noticed many cars zipping by on the main road just a block east of our house. I thought, “In their hurriedness to get wherever they are going, they are missing this amazing sunrise, this beautiful demonstration of God’s glory. They are all missing it.” Truth is, I almost missed it too.
I’m so glad I stopped writing, refocused on God, and allowed Him to show me His glory through a sunrise. My heart is at rest again because of this one simple action.
So here’s my challenge this bright and beautiful Friday morning. If you missed the sunrise, stop what you are doing tonight and watch the same sun set. Slow down for a just a few minutes and notice the beauty the Lord displays for us. Then remember to praise Him for His glory and the beauty He bestows on us.
Scripture:
Psalm 113:3 – “From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised.”
