The passages I read this morning are rich. The deepness of their meaning is without a known depth except to Jesus Himself. Yet in His graciousness, He once again, revealed something so simple to me I just have to share it. Another one-word action (with a very descriptive adverb).
We all want something free. Daily I receive emails and ads that offer all sorts of free things. People love free stuff. I’m a people. I love free stuff too.
But I asked myself, how many of us want to receive something free, but we don’t want to give something free? We want to be paid. We want something in return. We live a transactional life.
We’re always looking for a deal too: a bargain, a BOGO: Buy One Get One.
But Jesus comes along and says, “Freely you have received, freely give.”
What? I received something free? Now you want me to give it away free? No payment required? No exchange of goods or services? Not even a BOGO? Just give it away? Freely give it away?
Yes!
How many of us are willing to freely give what we’ve been given? I’m sure there have been times (too many times actually) where I received something for free, but when it was my turn to do the same for someone else, I expected some form of payment. The old “I helped you, now you help me attitude” is not from Jesus. That mentality comes from the world.
Jesus says what we have received freely, we are to give.
Freely give.
Immediately, I know three things I personally can and do freely give.
I freely lend my faith, encourage hearts, and inspire grit.
Today, I’m challenged to consider more things I can freely give. Such as my time, my humor, my love, my smile, my strength (probably not to open jars though, someone else will have to freely give that kind of strength.) 🙂
The point is. We have all freely received some things. Now we need to freely give.
This is not BOGO. This is FRFG (Freely Receive Freely Give).
How do we freely give? I think the most important action is to just do it. For me, today I’m going to choose to freely give what I’ve been given. I have a couple of ideas in mind already in addition to the previous three I’ve mentioned.
What are some things you personally have freely received from Jesus that you can freely give to someone else?
I’m so excited to start this day.
Let’s freely give today what we have freely received from Jesus.
Scripture:
Matthew 10:8b – Freely you have received, freely give.

Hello Michelle, thank you so much for encouraging me. I enjoy acronyms and I haven’t heard of BOGO or FRFG until now. 🙂
Michelle, years ago the precious Holy Spirit ministered an S.O.S. to me. At the time I was having an MRI…and I do not like being in those machines. 🙂
Michelle, I had prayed, quoted many of the I Am’s, and the Five Finger Exercises. The sound of the machine reminds me of the children’s song “He’s Still Working On Me.” Michelle, all at once came this thought…Shepherd Of Sheep.
I realized it was an S.O.S. and I was so excited. On the way home I stopped at a Bible Book Store to share what happened with a friend. Soon many were listening about the S.O.S. 🙂 Michelle, before I left the parking lot there was a flip with my thought and it became Sheep Of Shepherd.
God is so good to me!
My prayer for you concerns writing your book. May God Bless you greatly! Michelle, you know God gives it one page at a time.
Lots Of Victories Endure!

Mary,
Wow!
S.O.S. Thank you for sharing this story. I love it!!
You are the second person today who shared with me about praying for me and my book. God is up to something for sure! I’m encouraged. Moreso, I’m humbled. I’m humbed enough to be in tears right now. Thank you for your prayers and for the reminder “one page at a time.”
My heart is ready!
Michelle 🙂
