When inspiration hits you first thing in the morning, it’s better than an alarm clock! This, my friends, happened to me within the last hour. Oh that I could share all that God is speaking to me, but a las if I want to get this day’s Morning Musing published, I better get writing because after all, I only have a few minutes to do all of this.
My favorite devotional book is Streams in the Desert. The way I got this book is a story in and of itself, but I don’t have time to tell it today. I can say, I’ve read this devotional book five times. It has 366 daily devotional readings. That’s a lot of devotional time I’ve spent with God and this book. Yet, He keeps leading me back to it time and time again.
Since July 6, He’s had me daily in this devotional book again. He’s preparing me, friends. He’s tugging at my heart. He’s inspiring me. He’s stirring up emotions. He’s presenting ideas that cause deep thought.
Today He said, “Yes, I tell you.”
My heart dropped. Jesus Himself said to Michelle, “Yes, I tell you.”
I started quickly looking up these specific words in other books of the Bible, but I don’t have time to do a deep search. I can tell you. Jesus said this frequently when He spoke to people.
Four words with enough inspiration to get me excited. If Jesus tells us, we need to pay attention.
Friends, He’s telling me to trust Him, to follow Him, and to not be afraid.
What is He telling you?
Stop today for a minute and read something from one of the Gospels where Jesus is speaking. Really read His words. Listen. Expect to hear something inspirational. I believe He has something to say to each one of us today. I don’t know what you specifically need to hear Jesus say, but this is what I needed to hear:
“Yes, I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid…”
These first words from Luke 12:5 were meant for me today and in my current season of life especially what I’m facing with my writing.
These words encouraged me. They also brought me excitement.
Friends, today is a good day to open God’s Word and read what Jesus says. May you be blessed and may you, too, hear Jesus say, “Yes, I tell you.”
