Every Monday, I receive an email from Tommy Newberry, best-selling author and success coach. His “Monday Motivation” email may be short, but it impacts me in a positive way. So today for the November New Challenge, I’m going to keep it short too. I have one important word for you: Consistency!
Word of the Year
Consistency has been my word of the year. Goal? Be regular, steady, and constant in different areas of my life. I’ve been successful in some things, but not all. There’s a reason God gives me a word to focus on each year. It’s always an area I need to improve.
Today, Newberry’s Monday Motivation got me! He asked one question:
“What’s the number one thing you could be doing consistently, but are not, that would have a really positive impact on your life?”
Then he phrased it differently by adding a topic, to help make the question more relatable. I’m going to do the same.
“What’s the number one thing you could be doing consistently, but are not, that would have a really positive impact on your writing?”
My answer? Write. And that’s what I’m doing every single day this November. Being consistent. Now it’s also time to be consistent in some other areas of my life.
Here are four other topics I listed in my journal and answered.
- Health/fitness
- Marriage
- Money
- Time Management
I’m not sharing my answers. That’s personal. But I will say, I was honest. And I already have intentions of starting today. Because the Lord gave me work to do!
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3, ESV
How about you?
What’s the number one thing you could be doing consistently, but are not, that would have a really positive impact on your life?
Thanks to Tommy Newberry, we have some pondering to do today. I encourage you to be honest with yourself. Answer his question.
Today, I close with a quote by Tommy Newberry:
“Don’t be upset by the results you didn’t get from the work you didn’t do.”
