I turned on some praise music and started off down the road. Before long, the power of praise lifted my soul. With a spring in my soul and my step, I walked a couple of miles in 60-degree weather in Minnesota on November 15! What?
If you are not from here, you don’t know how rare this is. I was not about to waste this glorious opportunity to get outside and enjoy this wonderful autumn day that the Lord has given us. The beautiful autumn day was the perfect backdrop for this praise session.
As I walked and praised Jesus, I remembered a day about three weeks ago that was just as glorious.
The brilliant blue sky provided the perfect backdrop to golden autumn leaves glistening in the sunshine. As usual, my earphones plugged my ears, but when I approached the scene, I stopped what I was listening to, took my headphones out of ears, and instead listened to one of the most beautiful sounds.
The trees were clapping. I had read about this in the Bible, but now I was witnessing it. The trees were clapping and praising Jesus. I captured the moment on video. I wanted to remember the moment forever.
Today, I share this wonder with you. Turn up your volume and listen to the trees clapping. Watch their brilliant colors burst for Jesus. If that isn’t a wonderful song and admiration for our Creator, I don’t know what is.
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
This is the power of praise.
Every day during this November New Challenge, I’m amazed at what God is doing in my life. Today, I just burst with praise for Him, just like those trees of the field did a few weeks ago. I was reminded that if we don’t praise Jesus, He still gets praise. The trees will make sure of it.
But let’s not miss all the opportunities to bless our Lord and Savior. The power of praise changes us and blesses our Lord. I hope you’ll join me in this challenge, and praise Jesus today.
Blessing
Today, may you clap your hands like the trees. May you burst into song before Him and praise His holy name. May you go out in joy and be led forth in peace.
