There is One who stands above the rest. He is the Holy One, Most High King. There is no one like Him. And yet we worry, are frightened, try to fix things and make a mess of the world. We think man is the answer. The Most High King asks a tough question today, “To whom will you compare Me?” See His response to me as I laid down my worries before Him.
The trees move as the wind blows over them. They’ve lost their leaves. They stand barren. Gray sky canvassed behind them makes them appear black. Who made them lose their leaves? Who colored the sky gray today? Who makes the wind blow?
There is only One who can do this: The LORD God Himself.
Worried and Frightened
Truth is deep inside I’ve been frightened by what’s going on in the world. I see so much evil and discord happening. I see people latching on to men and political parties, and putting their trust and hope in people and their ways hoping they will fix our world’s problems.
My heart cries for my children and grandchildren, for littles ones being born into this mess. My heart breaks at how easy it seems for our enemy, the Devil, to take control of our thoughts, words, and actions.
My heart cries for peace and hope for our future. In the wee hours of the morning, my heart desperately cried out to my God. “I’m scared, LORD! Look what’s happening.”
In the quiet hours of the morning, the LORD spoke to me through Isaiah 37-40. One question echoed throughout our time together.
“To whom will you compare Me?”
Isaiah 40:25
He asks this question of us all: To whom will you compare Me?
Generations have come and gone, wars fought and won, seasons return then disappear again, yet, the word of the LORD remains forever.
Earthly kings reign for a while, but Jesus reigns forever. May you be both challenged and encouraged today as I share a very personal interaction with God Himself.
Personal Message from a Personal God, the Holy One
To whom will you compare Me?
How far you’ve fallen from Me. There is no one who compares to Me. I make the grass wither and the flowers fall because the breath of the LORD blows on them. I am He.
To whom will you compare Me?
You are weak and weary from the tiring and incessant barrage of evil. Harsh and disturbing words of my children and your enemies wear you down and cause you to question My ability and My power.
I give strength to the weary and power to the weak. I renew the strength of even the young people. They have grown tired too.
Can mere man restore your strength? Which man can do what I can do for you?
To whom will you compare Me? I ask again.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
To whom will you compare Me? Who?
Why do you worry so much? Why are you afraid? Do you not know that I, the Most High King, see you? Do you not know I have known this time would come? Why are you full of doubt and worry? Do you not know who I am?
Who is My equal? No one is My equal. No one.
No king, no president, no ruler in this entire world can compare to Me. Who are you putting your trust in? Me or them? Which one can actually give you strength? Me or them? Which one can remove a heart of stone and give in its place a new heart of tenderness, love, compassion, and hope? Me or them?
Why do My people choose to put their hope in mere man? To whom will you compare Me?
Have you not heard that long ago I ordained these times? I, God Himself, planned these days and now I have brought it to pass. There is not one man who can accomplish anything without Me knowing about it first.
I see your comings and goings. Nothing is hidden from Me. Any evil or any good, I see it all. Those who do evil, will be rewarded for their deeds. Those who love Me will be rewarded too. Which way are you going to choose?
To whom will you compare Me? I will keep asking you. I will keep telling you. There is no one who is my equal. I am God. I am Jesus. There is only One who saves, who heals, who restores, who is God Himself. Only One. I am He.
Do not put your trust in mere man. I’m telling you, no man compares to Me and what I can do.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Lean on Me. Run to Me. Call out to Me. Come to Me. I will help you.
Humbled and Strengthened
The gray sky remains, the wind calmly blows the trees, the leaves fall, the rain drizzles, and I see His promise: the word of the LORD stands forever.
To whom will I compare Him? No one. For He is the Most Holy One, and He is my God, my Jesus, my Savior, my King.
He has spoken to me this morning and reminded me there is no need to worry about today or the future. I will compare Him to no one because no one can compare to Him. No one is His equal. No one. I put my hope and trust in the LORD.
Will you?

Thanks Michelle.
I didn’t even know how much I needed to hear this today. I need to refocus my attention from the chaos of the world, and remember The One who is actually in control – our mighty Lord.
Thank you for these comforting insights. 💕

Cris, thank you for being vulnerable to share. I get it. I didn’t even realize how scared and worried I’d become until I started reading Isaiah 37-40. What a relief that we don’t need to carry the burdens of the world. Jesus does. What a joy to know that no one can compare to Him nor is anyone equal to Him. Today, I speak Jesus over you. May you continue to receive comfort from Him.
with joy,
Michelle
