Day 11 of 21-Day Sugar Fast
My primary desire for doing this 21-Day Sugar Fast was to reset my body and to reconnect with Jesus in deeper ways. But how does God want to use this fast to connect with Him?
Throughout this sugar fast, the Lord has desired that I pray for healing for myself and for others. I’m praying for various needs among those I’m connected. From physical healing to mental and emotional healing to spiritual healing, the list grows daily.
Today, Jesus and I sat together in my closet. We held hands and prayed for healing together. Every word whispered to me, I prayed out loud to the Heavenly Father. I know Jesus hears our prayers. I know He intercedes for us as we seek the Heavenly Father.
God hears and receives these prayers, and I will continue to pray for healing until Jesus answers these prayers. We don’t know when, where, or how, but He will. He promises.
My desire to reconnect with Jesus during this sugar fast manifested today in a powerful way through prayer. When the God of the universe comes and sits with you in your closet, holds your hand, and prays with you for healing, well, that’s the reconnection I was hoping for and seeking.
Desire to Reconnect with Jesus
Alisa Keeton wrote, “Desires are meant to lead us back to our Father’s house where our souls are free to talk at the family table to see what He thinks…But often in our desires, we ache for something more tangible than connecting with the Spirit of God.”
My desire to reconnect with Jesus happened. Deeply, tenderly, and lovingly He lets me be free to talk to Him. As I share, He listens. Then as He shares, I listen.
Early in the morning every day, I seek Him. And He’s always waiting for me.
Are you aching for something more tangible than connecting with Jesus? People and things can’t give us what only God Himself can. When we desire real freedom, healing, meaning in our life, let’s reconnect with Jesus. He is the only One who can meet our needs.
Seek Jesus First
As I write this, I’m listening to Morning Worship on Instrumental Guitar. An old hymn, “Seek Ye First” flowed through as I reconnected with Jesus. Coincidence? Nope! This is a gentle reminder from Jesus Himself that we need to seek Him first. When we do, everything else falls into place.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
Jesus brought a sweet melody with Him today as He and I reconnected and prayed together for healing. The lyrics are below and if you click on “Seek Ye First” you can listen to this melody too.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God
And His righteousness
And all these things shall be added unto you
Allelu Alleluia
Ask and it shall be given unto you
Seek and ye shall find
Knock and it shall be opened unto you
Allelu Alleluia
Al – le – lu – ia
Al – le – lu – ia
Al – le – lu – ia
Al – le – lu Al – le – lu – ia
I pray you desire to reconnect with Jesus. He’s waiting for you.
